Acupuncture

Acupuncture aids pets' health by restoring energy flow and treating various conditions.

Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine that has been used for thousands of years. Its aim is to help the body regain its equilibrium by inserting fine needles into the lines of energy flow, called meridians. This practice can greatly benefit your pet's well-being and is not limited to human use.

What are the benefits of animal acupuncture?

Acupuncture has many physiological benefits, such as activating blood, lymph, and nerve circulation. It also boosts the immune system and has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.

When is it appropriate to try acupuncture?

Acupuncture can be used in a variety of situations, including treating motor or musculoskeletal issues, various types of pain, neurological problems, skin issues, or even gastrointestinal disorders. It can also be used preventively.

How does an acupuncture session work?

The veterinarian conducts an examination and identifies one or more symptoms of imbalance. They then select specific points on the meridians where needles are inserted to restore balance. Animals are generally very tolerant of the fine needles, and most will relax during treatment or even fall asleep. The needles are flexible, so it’s not a problem if the animal moves; they don’t need to remain completely still.

Multiple sessions may be needed for lasting results, though significant improvement is often observed after one or two treatments. The number of sessions depends on the condition being treated, and the veterinarian determines the time needed between treatments based on the animal's response.
