Heartworm Testing

Vital assessments for early detection and timely treatment of heartworms.

Heartworms are parasites that are found in your pet’s blood. As their name suggests, they can lodge in your pet’s heart and pulmonary arteries, which can be very dangerous and even fatal. Fortunately, you can ward off the worst and keep your pet safe with parasitic treatments and testing at its annual exam.

How do you test for heartworms?

We screen for these parasites with a simple blood test. We then analyze the test in our on-site lab meaning you get the results quickly.

How did my pet contract heartworms?

Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites. Animals that spend time outdoors are more at risk, especially between May and November.

What are the signs that my pet has heartworms?

This will depend on the extent of the infection and your pet’s overall health. You may notice breathing issues, coughing, increased fatigue, weight loss and less stamina for everyday activities and exercise.
